Welcome To The Jungle Cardigan Knitting Pattern (English)

Welcome To The Jungle Cardigan is a classic raglan style cardigan, with an extra twist. As the pattern is worked using two coloured knitting and double knitting, as described further down, the completed work will have two right sides, where the colours lay opposite to each other. That means 2 cardigans in one. The cardigan is worked as a sweater and turned into a cardigan using the steeking technique and finished with double layered plackets.

The cardigan is worked top-down. For a nice fitting neckline, which is lower in the front, the beginning is worked back and forth across the front, the sleeves and the back. The work is joined by cast-on stitches at the lower neckline in front and continued in the round. Increases on each side of the 4 raglan seams are worked on the yoke. The body and sleeves are worked individually and finished with double knitted rib.

Before steeking work a seam on your sewing machine on each side of the centre on the front piece.
Work a button placket and a buttonhole placket on each side of the cardigan and finish with a two colored rib on the neck.

Choice of size

The cardigan is designed with a positive ease of 10-15 cm. That means that you need to choose a size that is about 10-15 cm bigger than your own chest measurement. If your chest measurement is 96 cm, you should choose a size M, with a circumference of 110 cm.
