Fomation Sweater Knitting Pattern (English)

Formation Sweater is a model with a wide fit, long sleeves and wide ribbing. The pattern is created by a mock honeycomb stitch described below.

The model is worked top down. Starting with the neck line by knitting back and forth and simultaneously increasing the stitch count by both the shoulder stitch and towards the neckline. Continued by working in the round until all shoulder increases are made. Then the work is divided in front- and back piece, so that the armholes are shaped on both sides. After the armhole the work is joined again, worked in the round and finished with ribbing. The sleeves are worked top down. Stitches are picked up along the armholes and the sleeves are worked in the round with decreases underneath the arm. The sleeves are finished with ribbing. The ribbing by the neckline is folded double which gives a lovely finish.

Choice of size

The sweater has a positive ease of 10-15 cm. This means that you should choose the size measuring 10-15 cm more than your chest circumference. If your chest measures 96 cm, you should choose a size M (110 cm circumference).
