Riptide Cardigan English
Riptide Cardigan Knitting Pattern (English)
Riptide Cardigan is a slightly cropped model with a small positive ease, long sleeves with a puff on the top of the shoulder and double knitted plackets. The diagonal rib pattern underlines the feminine silhouette
The model is worked bottom-up. The body is worked back and forth until the beginning of the armholes. Then the sleeves are worked in the round. After joining sleeves and body, the yoke is worked back and forth, decreasing at alternate frequencies which makes the sleeve appear as a set-in sleeve, which is worked with a small puff on the top of the shoulder. The u-shape of the neck is shaped by short rows. Plackets and neckband are worked in double knit.
Choice of size
The cardigan has a positive ease of 0-7 cm. This means you should choose a size measuring 0-7 cm more than your chest circumference. If your chest measures 96 cm, you should choose a size M with a circumference of 99 cm. If you’re in between sizes, I would recommend going up a size.
