Cherish Sweater Knitting Pattern (English)

Cherish Sweater is a model with a generous positive ease, extra length on the sleeves and wide rib trimming. The pattern consists of different sequences of structures as described below and in the diagrams.

It is knit top-down, starting by shaping the neck working back and forth, while at the same time working increases on each side of the shoulder seams and towards the centre of the neckline in the front. The work is joined by casting on stitches at the bottom of the neckline and is now worked in the round until all increases by the shoulder seams have been made. In order to make armholes, the body is divided into back and front and worked separately back and forth, until the bottom of the armholes where the body is yet joined again, worked in the round and finished with a twisted ribbing trim at the bottom. The sleeves are also worked top-down, in the round and finished with a twisted rib trim. The ribbing in the neck is double layered for a nice finish.

Choice of size

The sweater has a positive ease of 15-20 cm. This means you should choose a size measuring 15-20 cm more than your chest circumference. If your chest measures 96 cm, you should choose a size M with a circumference of 113 cm.
