She’s A Rainbow Sweater English
She’s A Rainbow Sweater Knitting pattern (English)
She’s A Rainbow Sweater is a chunky model with a voluminous puff on the shoulder. Wide, thick cables shaped as chains are centered on both front and back pieces. The sweater is finished with ribbing on the body, sleeves and at the neck where the rib is folded double for an extra nice finish. The neck can also be worked as a turtleneck as seen on, She’s A Rainbow Vest.
The work begins on the back piece with provisional cast on and a stockinette edge.
A short piece is worked in stockinette which later constitutes the neck. Then stitches are picked up along the longitudinal side and the cables begin while at the same time increasing in each side on every row. Thus, a slant line is shaped on both shoulders, from here stitches are picked up and the left and right side of the front pieces are worked individually while increases are made towards the middle to shape the round neckline.
Front- and back piece are joined and worked in the round until desired length and finished with ribbing. Then, stitches are picked up along the armhole and the cap of the sleeve are worked with increases to create the puff and short rows are used to shape the sleeve so that it looks like an insert sleeve.
Finally, stitches are picked up from the neckline and are made into either a round neckband or a turtleneck.
