Zebra Skirt Knitting Pattern (English)

Zebra Skirt is a tight-fitting model in two-coloured double knitting. The skirt is worked in the round from the top down. It can be worked with a ribbing in two-coloured double knit rib or as a drawstring hem with an elastic band. The skirt is shaped to fit the curves of the body by de- and increasing. At the bottom the work is divided into front and back and worked individually back and forth creating a slit on each side. The slits and bottom are worked in a single-coloured double knit stitch and bound off using the Italian bind-off technique.

Choice of size

The model has a negative ease of 5-10 cm. This means you should choose a size measuring 5-10 cm less than your hip circumference. If your hip measures 100 cm, you should choose a size M with a circumference of 94 cm. If you are between sizes, it is recommended to go down a size.

Knitting gauge 19 stitches • 24 rows of double knit stitch on a 4 mm needle  = 10 • 10 cm

22 stitches • 28 rows of double knit rib on a 3 mm needle  = 10 • 10 cm

Recommended needles 3 mm (40-80 cm) og 4 mm (80-120 cm)

Materials 1 strand of Arwetta (210 m / 50 g) from Filcolana or Merino Fingering (400 m /100 g) from Ladybug Yarn or Fiber Galore held together with 1 strand of Tilia (210 m / 25 g) from Filcolana or Silk Mohair (420 m / 50 g) from Ladybug Yarn or Fiber Galore
