Juicy Skirt Knitting Pattern (English)

Juicy Skirt is a tightfitting, ankle length skirt with long slits in each side where the front overlaps the back. It is worked in Stockinette stitch in one strand of Big Curly (Yarn A), while the trims are worked in 3 strands of merino held together with 3 strands of mohair (yarn B) framing the skirt a nice hold and contrast.

The skirt is worked top-down starting with the waistband which is worked in Stockinette in yarn B and folded forming a tunnel which optionally can be assembled with an elastic band.

The rest of the skirt is worked in yarn A shaping the curves of the hips working increases and decreases. Just below the knee the skift is divided into front and back which are worked individually to shape the slit in each side. Both back and front pieces are finished with a double knit trim in yarn B along the sides of each side and at the bottom of the skirt and are finished with the Italian cast-off technique.

Choice of size

The skirt has a negative ease of 10-15 cm. This means you should choose a size measuring 10-15 cm less than your hip circumference. If your hip measures 100 cm, you should choose a size M with a hip circumference of 87 cm. If you are in between sizes it is recommended to go down a size.
