Goosebumps Sweater Knitting Pattern (English)

Goosebumps Sweater is an oversized model with an European shoulder construction, slit in each side, turtleneck and long sleeves with decreases on the top of the sleeve. The pattern for the sweater is 2x2 rib, while trims and neck are worked in 1x1 twisted rib.

The shoulder seam is placed on the front piece where the work begins. Each shoulder piece is worked individually shaping the shoulder seam and neckline. The pieces are joined by an i-cord which is also the bottom of the neckline, from where stitches will be knit up and worked. Now the front piece is worked back and forth until the bottom of the armholes.

Each part of the shoulders of the back piece are also worked individually starting by knitting up stitches and working back and forth while at the same time shaping the back of the neck. They are as the front pieces joined by an i-cord - making a frame along the neckline. The back piece is worked as the front pieces - and they are joined after the armhole - now working in the round, while at the same time working increases and decreases on each side of the side seam placing it as a diagonal line towards the centre of the front piece. About halfway through the body the work is divided into front and back again and worked individually creating a slit in each side. Both front and back are finished with trims worked in 1x1 twisted rib. Stitches are knit up along the armholes and the sleeves are worked in 2x2 rib with centred decreases on top of the sleeve after the elbow and finished with a 1x1 twisted rib trim. Along the neckline stitches are knit up and the turtleneck is worked in a 1x1 twisted rib.

Choice of size

The sweater has a positive ease of 25-30 cm. This means you should choose a size measuring 25-30 cm more than your chest circumference. If your chest measures 96 cm, you should choose a size M with a circumference of 124 cm.
